Highlights create interest, but full games allow coaches to evaluate consistency, decision-making, effort and performance when the play is not designed for you.
Choose clips that demonstrate the techniques, responsibilities and athletic traits college coaches evaluate at your position.
Coaches study effort away from the ball, pursuit, blocking, communication and how a player responds from one snap to the next.
Different positions are evaluated through different responsibilities and movement patterns. Film should clearly demonstrate the traits that matter most for the player’s projected college position.
Start with the strongest clips that immediately demonstrate the traits college coaches need to see.
Use a simple spotlight, arrow or circle before each play. Remove it before the snap whenever possible.
Begin each clip two to three seconds before the play so coaches can evaluate alignment, stance and assignment.
End each clip shortly after the play is complete. Avoid unnecessary dead time between reps.
